For most, plastics are their go-to choice when choosing pots for their container garden. Since they hold water well, this means less required effort from you and less stress for water-loving plants. But, remember that recycling old materials is not 100% foolproof. There are those which are composed of harmful and toxic chemicals that would bring no good at all. It’s always safer to check their recycling code on the bottom. Numbers 1, 2, 4, and 5 are considered “safer.” Moreover, as you search along for containers, you might as well consider two other important factors: drainage and lining. Potholes help prevent your plants from drowning while a good lining is a great technique to help slow down rot, especially for wood containers.
