Whatever plant you try to grow in a container, its roots will continue to grow endlessly, even when you feel like the top has reached its maximum height already. Over time, when left untouched, these roots could potentially cause your plants to die out of starvation or dehydration as its roots continue to absorb most of the nutrients your plant needs. This is why root pruning is necessary.
